We are very excited to finally be able to reveal our video for Day 1 of the Women’s Work Festival 2016!
Drawn In Pen Productions recorded each day of the festival and will be releasing one video a week for the next few weeks summarising each day!
#womenswork launched on Friday 4th March with an exclusive interview (by Phil Taggart) and DJ set from the legendary Annie Nightingale!
The Women’s Work Festival is series of events that highlights, celebrates and showcase womens in music, as well as facilitates discussion with industry and artists on the issues surrounding the debate.
Annie led the movement to encourage women to become DJs, breaking the ‘no women DJs’ ban at Radio 1 in 1970 to become the first female presenter.
Annie specialises in championing new and underground music and is credited with helping to break acts like Daft Punk and London Grammar. She continues to DJ around the world and in 2014 Annie was presented with the Pioneer in Music Award by Music Week / A.I.M. at the Women In Music Awards.
